LP5 - Printers/Devices
The Printers/Devices section is used to set-up printers during the implementation. The actual view of the configuration windows in this section depends on the implementation, the label design software used, and the factory requirements. General view and available actions resemble the Lines section described above but the list displays printers instead of lines.
Details are available in technical documentation and implementation guide.
Important Notes:
This section can be modified by ILABO, implementation partner or trained personnel only.
This section shouldn’t be modified when the implementation is finished and physical printers were not modified.
Unauthorized changes or modification here may cause malfunction of the System!
Actions available:
Refreshing printers.
Adding a new printer.
Modifying a printer.
Deleting a printer.
Searching to narrow the selection in case of a long list. This searches both fields simultaneously: Name and Description.
Sorting by ID, Name, Printer Type.
Anatomy of the printer set-up window:
Printer ID – given automatically, will remain occupied even if printer was deleted.
Printer Name – should be the printer system name used by the server where LogicPRINT is installed, should be unique, will be used in the System to identify the printer.
Description – should be informative to you
IP – only if direct LAN printer type is used
Select printer type.
Printer shares uploaded labels.
Choose Show advance mode if you want to define different printer properties, additional steering commands etc. This section very much depends on the type of the printer, label designer software used, and custom requirements. It is being configured during implementation.
Printer type DUMMY represents a dummy printer used mainly for testing. If you use this printer type, LogicPRINT will not send any data to any printer or label designer when Print Request is started but all other processes will be executed.
