LP5 - About LogicPRINT
LogicPRINT is the system designed to automate labelling processes at production plants. It is divided into two areas:
· individual products and collective packaging
· palletizing
This User Guide covers individual products and collective packaging only. Name LogicPRINT or the System used in this document refers only to LogicPRINT individual products and collective packaging area.
The main purpose of LogicPRINT is to automatically: grab the production order from external systems (ERP, MES), calculate all fields for the label, pick the correct label, fill it with the data and send it to the printers on the production line. LogicPRINT is designed to work automatically when a production order is started in an external system and to operate semi-automatically by starting print orders or print jobs manually in the GUI. It also enables filling labels with auxiliary data at the beginning of a print job (e.g., number of the first package), manual printing of labels for personalized packages with additional data collected from external devices (e.g., scales).

LogicPRINT builds the product (SKU) database basing on the data imported from external systems (ERP, MES). These systems are treated as the master product database source. The System doesn’t allow to create SKU’s or overwrite SKU data in the external systems. It allows to add additional fields describing SKU, stores it in the local data base and uses for label generation, e.g., brand name, type name, individual packaging or product form icon, allergens, certificates icons or names etc.
LogicPRINT uses the label templates designed by third party label designers e.g., CoLOS, BarTender or an internal label designer. Labels can be sent to printers directly, via modeler, Windows driver, or preload, depending on printer types and implementation.
