LP5 - Mappings

In the Mappings section, you can map lines, printers, Label templates and Order Types to labelling points. For each labelling point new empty entry is created in this view. To use it in the system it needs to be correctly mapped.

Actions available:

  1. Adding a new line, printer, Label Template and Order Type to labelling point mapping.

  2. Modifying an existing mapping.

  3. Filtering by areas, lines.

  4. Searching to narrow the selection in case of a long list. This searches labelling point, line and printer fields simultaneously.

  5. Sorting by labelling points and Order Types.

Mapping rules and tips:

  1. You can map the same printer to multiple labelling points.

a.      In such case print requests sent from different labelling points will que and will be printed one after the other. If the labelling point has the automatic printers cleaning, each next request will completely delete previous job.

b.      Typical usage: Manual printer is used to print labels manually as the contingency in case of the production line printer malfunction, need to reprint labels, or printing manually labels for materials return centrally.

  1. You can map multiple printers to a single labelling point:

a.      In such case all printers will execute the same print job;

b.      Printers should be of the same kind and configured the same e.g. both have clearing buffer set to ‘on’;

c.      Typical usage: the production line splits and you have multiple printers marking boxes.

  1. You can map multiple lines to the same labelling point.

  2. You can map the same line to multiple labelling points.

  3. Print job is generated for the labelling point in the context of the Order started on the line. If you have the labelling point assigned to multiple lines working on the one line will not affect other lines.
