Connecting your assets
In this section, we will describe patterns and processes for connecting your assets to PackOS.
Edge Devices
Message data flow starts in the factory network - on computers connected to actual machine hardware. Most often there is already an OPC server with most datapoints available for a reader. Sometimes a different protocol such as HTTP communication, SQL database or Modbus is available. In other cases we can deliver independent photocells with Data Collector Box containing Beckhoff I/O and IPC.

Tags
OPC tags delivered by Edge Device are registered in PackOS even if they are yet not used for any rule or signal. You can inspect all received data in Settings → Edge Devices → Tags or Tag History screens.
Data Processing
If you can see your data ingested correctly to PackOS, you are now ready to take advantage of PackOS processing capabilities to analyse and display your data:
