Manual way of working

In PackOS user has two possibilities when reporting production in an order - rely only on counters and manual reconcilliation when finishing an order. A manual way of working gives us the possibility to change counter numbers while the order is still running.

How to set it up

We can turn on this functionality for certain lines or a whole plant. It’s straightforward, because it needs only one property set to true, and the base unit for the line must be set, no signals are needed.

How it works

For orders only in Started status, there’s now a button ‘Production reconciliation’, where everything related to this functionality is happening.

Example of usage (updated since version 3.17 PackOS)

In the Production reconciliation screen we’ve got two time scopes to report production:

  • Total, where the user has to provide the number of productions that is visible on the order and cannot be lower than the previous entry

  • Increment, where users can provide any number they like because it’s adding the value of production that we want to the previous total production number

When declaring a new entry start has to be in a different minute than the previous entry or the order has to be running for at least one minute.

In both of these time scopes, there’s a possibility to report production in the past, present, and even some time in the future (select a date/time from a calendar).

The production reported is always in order unit, not line unit.

The history field shows us all the previous entries, with information like who created each entry, what was the difference in production, and the date & time range of this production entry.

In the above case, the values with a plus are different than those provided using Total time scope - in the first video at 00:49 we can see that the previous entry total was 5005 kg produced and 53 kg wasted, I’m adding a new entry with 5010 kg produced and 55 kg wasted total, so in history it’s displayed +5kg produced (so it sums up to 5010 kg) and +3kg wasted (so it sums up to 55 kg).

We can also delete previous entries (but only the latest one) - so if we want to change older entries, we first have to delete all in front of it.

After all new entries in the Production report, all the good and waste production is evenly distributed in the date & time range provided in the entry. Counters on the line on the Monitoring view are also changed accordingly to in-process production reconciliation.

Example of a line with working counters

As you can observe, the numbers are evenly distributed all the time from the previous entry to this one. Counters go up by the number that is in the entry with a plus. After deleting the entry we can see that everything goes back to the previous state.
