Asset identification and classification system in LogiX

Each asset defined in LogiX can be described in two ways, by assigning it:

• to one or more asset taxonomy classification

• one or more unique identifier from group of identifiers

Asset taxonomies

LogiX platform comes with built in asset taxonomies (i.e. ISA95) and allows to define any number of custom ones. To support efficient management of Taxonomies they are grouped in namespaces. Each taxonomy have unique name in their namespace and is uniquely identified by name + namespace.

Taxonomies that are built-in into LogiX are grouped in ‘LogiX' namespace. More on taxonomies in https://ilabo.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/LW/pages/2056749074

Example of asset taxonomies:

• ISA95 asset location (built-in)

• types of packaging machines (built-in)

• required authorization levels to access equipement (custom)

• asset location of equipement (custom)

Asset Identifiers

ISA95 support in LogiX

ISA95 standard, which is widely used in manufacturing industry it is present both as classification and unique identification of assets.
